Report Non-complying Engines

As you know local forces at Vancouver or Pasco will not make repairs or log the defects.

If you have a non-complying engine (Weather stripping, Water Cooler, Wipers, Dirty toilet or anything that makes the engine non-complying) report it to the Mechanical Desk and please leave me a message with the engine number and the date and time reported to the Mechanical Desk.

Final Lite Miles

Post 1985 employees when you leave your train at Lake Yard and return to Vancouver
claim 10 Final Lite Miles per 18(g) of the SP&S Agreement.

Rule 18 (g) in the 1955 SP&S Road Agreement states

When final terminal delay accrues, mileage between designated switch and point of release, will not be allowed; when final terminal delay does not accrue, actual mileage will be allowed from designated switch to point of release, and will be added to the actual mileage of the trip.

Laying Off

If you are denied to lay off while we have people furloughed submit a timeslip.

Claim Basic day account non-compliance of 1993 Crew Consist Article 3 Section 1

1993 Crew Consist ARTICLE III
GUARANTEED EXTRA BOARDS

Section l.

  1. Except as provided in paragraph © of this section, separate guaranteed conductor and brakemen extra boards will protect all extra road service requirements. Guaranteed yard extra boards will protect all extra yard service requirements. This agreement is not intended to permit the establishment of combination road/yard extra boards where such boards are not presently permitted. The Carrier shall maintain a sufficient number of employees to permit reasonable lay off privileges and to protect the service including vacations and other extended vacancies. Except as provided in paragraph (g) of this Section, the Carrier will regulate the number of positions on the guaranteed extra boards established pursuant to this Article.

Long Pool Conductor Only

The Vancouver/Pasco Long Pool is bulletined with Vancouver being the initial terminal and Pasco being the final terminal. At any other point in-between is a intermediate terminal.

If a train is yarded at Wishram and the track will hold the entire train no other move is allowed without a brakeman.

This committee WILL NOT process any claims for violation of Crew Consist Agreement unless a request for a brakeman was made and you were instructed to make the move.

1993 Crew Consist Section 2

Crews on through freight trains (including hours of service relief crews and crews on trains which convert to the local rate under existing rules) may be conductor-only crews; however, such conductor-only crews may only make straight pick-ups and set-outs between the initial and final terminal of the crew.

Booking 14 Hours Rest

To book 14 hours rest you have to make the request when you tie-up also you must have been on duty over 8 hours.
If you are ran around while you are getting rest you will establish a new place in the pool.

Claims

Just a reminder to get your claims to me as soon as possible and please give me the timeslip with the payroll number, delay report, call slip and anything else that will support your claim.

Yours Truly
